A little history

Our first Beach Hut love ‘Delilah’ took off in a way we could only dream of. Bookings were filling the diary to the point we were turning down many of our lovely guests’ requests. Even the addition of Little Miss Sunshine didn’t completely fill the demand. By July we were again pretty much booked up in both huts for the entire season. Just at the right time, we noticed an original wood stained looking beach hut owned by an elderly lady for sale. Her family were busy and didn’t really get to use it much and she was struggling to get down there – so the time was right to say goodbye.

We promised the owner we would treasure and look after her and be sure to send photos of how she was going to look once freshened up and painted. This is how Betty Beach Hut was created – named after my dear nan. We braved all weathers and went down for days and days during the winter months of 2022 – sanding, fixing areas and painting. There was a lot of work to be done on Betty Beach Hut before she was ready to showcase.

My daughter decided we needed a pink beach hut, so we compromised with blue and pink stripes. (Marine Splash and Sweet Fondant to be precise!) As we are putting this website together, we still have lots to do on Betty, but she will be ready to open her doors to you all for the beginning of the season in March/April

What to expect

What better way to start the year with a date in the diary for the spring/summer months to come.  Take a well deserved rest with friends or family. Enjoy a beautiful relaxed day at our beach hut. where you can contemplate the unbroken beach views in comfort.  It holds a maximum of eight people. Get comfortable in one of the chairs provided, set up the tables, and enjoy your picnic lunch while being lulled by the ocean scene.

A day at Betty Beach Hut will bring pure joy and happiness to you and your guests. The exterior is like a candy sweet – sherbert blue and pink stripes.   Situated on the front row of South Cliffe Promenade, nearer to The Pier End – she is perfectly positioned.

The interior continues this vintage, candy cane theme throughout.  Her vintage style furniture, carefully chosen and upcycled to match the exterior – and cute props always reminds me of a dolls house when I open the door.

Relax on the bench seating provided on each side of the hut while you make a cup of tea or pour a glass of prosecco.

Betty Beach Hut has the advantage of a large seating area directly outside. Perfect to set up your tables and chairs for the day, without having to be directly on the promendade, although if you fancy being in the midst of the people strolling up and down – tables and chairs on the prom is not a problem.

Steps leading down to the beach are directly in front of Betty Beach Hut.

As people stroll past, they always comment on Betty’s colours and how she looks ‘just like a beach hut should look’.

Who would Betty Beach Hut be suitable for?

Families who love everything vintage. Betty is a hop skip and a jump from the beach, with comfortable seating directly outside the hut. She is close to all amenities.

Perfect for little children as apart from a couple of steps it is flat from the beach hut to the steps leading down onto the beach.

Groups of friends or family who like everything close by – with only a few steps from the beach hut to the beach.

Couples who like being amongst the fun of the seaside but can watch from afar in the privacy of their very own seating area directly outside Betty.
