We love our beach huts – we think you will too!
We’re so excited to share our venture with you. Let us introduce you to our very own beach huts, nestled in the wonderful English seaside resort town of Walton on the Naze in Essex, on the South East Coast.
For those who don’t know it, Walton on the Naze is a gem. It has a soft, sandy beach, and a long stretch of promenade perfect for brisk strolls, or leisurely people watching. It also has a vintage pier with a totally refurbished arcade including fairground rides, 10 pin bowling and sea fishing.
There is even treasure to be found in the area! Fossil treasure that is. Many fossils are found each year along the coast. Some rocks are up to 50 million years old! The rocks include red brag and London clay. So there is something for everyone in this wonderful town. And our characterful beach huts are a marvellous hub for the whole family’s adventuring.
Many amenities are close by. May’s Boardwalk Café is a near neighbour. The perfect distance if you decide to treat yourself to a drink, ice cream or some of their hard to resist, scrumptious chips and hot food.
Definition of a beach hut (also known as a beach cabin, beach box or bathing box)
(noun): A small, usually wooden and often brightly coloured box, above the high tide mark on popular bathing beaches. They are generally used as a shelter from the sun or wind, changing into and out of swimming attire and for the safe storing of some personal belongings. Some beach huts incorporate simple facilities for preparing food and hot drinks by bottled gas, but generally do not provide electricity and water. Today there are believed to be around 20,000 beach huts in the UK
